Treedia Labs Launches Videocast.com Public Beta Site
Public web site allows users to watch video from major producers and independents
Cambridge, MA, May 13, 2008 – Treedia Labs, a leading media aggregation and distribution company, announced today that their newest web property, Videocast.com is now available for public review in a beta test format. Videocast.com is the second company-owned web destination that is powered by the Treedia Feed Management Platform™. It's sister web destination, Podcast.com, was launched in late 2006 and now boasts over 60,000 programs.
Videocast.com is a destination web site that is dedicated to allowing users to discover, watch and collect video-based syndicated content. Shows range from major network news to independently produced entertainment programming. Unlike other web sites that limit their collection of content to their own programming, Videocast.com accepts syndicated video programming from a wide range of publishers. Syndicating and distributing content on the Videocast.com site is free to any content producer.
Programming on Videocast.com is always growing. For the initial beta launch, Videocast.com has over 6,000 shows representing over 150,000 episodes. Programs include popular news and political programming, sports, music and entertainment programming. In addition to standard formatted video, Videocast.com also contains a great selection of high definition programming.
"Videocast.com exemplifies the power and value we bring to consumers of our services," said Duncan Perry, Chief Operating Officer of Treedia Labs. "Our content aggregation and distribution business remains robust, as demonstrated by our new partnerships and our ability to introduce high value web sites such as Videocast.com."
The beta site is open to everyone. People are invited to visit the site and provide feedback. A formal launch of the site is scheduled for later this year.
